This journey is not just a means of travel but an immersive experience into the diverse tapestry of Russian culture and the untamed beauty of its natural world. As night falls, the rhythm of the train ushers in a peaceful anticipation of the discoveries that lie ahead.

Reaching its shores, we embark on a boat to cross over to an island, where the serene beauty of Baikal surrounds us. Here, we check into our island hotel, nestled in the heart of nature, ready to embrace the tranquility and awe-inspiring landscapes of this unique Siberian gem.

After breakfast, we check out and begin our journey back to Irkutsk. The first leg involves crossing Lake Baikal on a ferry, a tranquil passage that allows us one last panoramic view of this magnificent natural wonder. Once on the other side, we embark on a scenic drive back to Irkutsk, making a special stop at Ust-Orda along the way. This visit offers a unique insight into the culture and traditions of the indigenous Buryat people, enriching our understanding of the region's diverse heritage. Lunch will be enjoyed en route, providing a moment to savor local flavors amidst the day's travels. Upon arrival in Irkutsk, we'll delve into an orientation tour of the city. Known as the "Paris of Siberia," Irkutsk charms with its historic architecture and vibrant streets, revealing layers of history and the spirit of Siberian resilience. The day concludes with an overnight stay in Irkutsk.

Ulaanbaatar to Gobi Desert

After breakfast, we embark on a drive to Kharkhorin, initiating our 4-day exploration of the Gobi Desert. Kharkhorin, once the capital of the Mongol Empire, serves as our gateway to Mongolia's vast and storied landscapes. Our visit here is highlighted by a tour of the Erdene Zuu Monastery, a cornerstone of Buddhism in Mongolia, enveloped by its 108 stupas. This site offers a peaceful glimpse into the spiritual heritage of the region. The day ends with an overnight stay in Kharkhorin, providing a restful preparation for the adventures that lie ahead in the Gobi Desert.

On the second day of our Gobi Desert adventure, we delve deeper into the heart of Mongolia's nomadic culture. In the afternoon, we journey to the ruins of the Ongi Monastery. On our third day in the Gobi, we will visit Bayanzag, also known as the Flaming Cliffs, a world-renowned paleontological site bathed in vibrant reds and oranges. Here, amidst the desert's stark beauty, we tread where dinosaurs once roamed, surrounded by the timeless landscape and saxaul trees. Bayanzag not only captivates us with its natural splendour but also connects us to the Earth's ancient past. After a day of exploration and discovery, we retire to a Ger Camp for the night. This traditional Mongolian accommodation offers a unique experience, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the tranquility of the desert under a canopy of stars, rounding off a day of adventure with a peaceful rest in the heart of the Gobi.

On our final day in the Gobi, we visit the spectacular Khongor Sand Dunes for camel riding and an opportunity to climb to their summit, offering breathtaking views across the desert. This exploration of diverse landscapes, from the Singing Dunes to the ice-filled gorge, encapsulates the Gobi's vast beauty and concludes our journey with vivid memories of Mongolia's natural splendour.

After breakfast, we set off for our return road trip to Ulaanbaatar. Reaching in afternoon, we will explore key landmarks and enjoy local cuisine for dinner. The day winds down with an overnight stay in Ulaanbaatar, offering a moment to reflect on our journey from the Gobi's open spaces to the lively capital, encapsulating Mongolia's rich contrasts.

Catching a 6:10 AM flight on Mongolian Air, we depart Ulaanbaatar for Beijing, marking a new chapter in our journey. Upon arrival in China’s historic capital, we dive straight into exploring some of the city’s most iconic sites. The Great Wall, a marvel of human engineering and resilience, offers breathtaking views and a tangible connection to China’s ancient past.   Our day in Beijing is a blend of awe-inspiring history and serene beauty, concluding with an overnight stay.

Our second day in Beijing is filled with local sightseeing, starting with the Palace Museum in the Forbidden City, where we delve into China's imperial history. With our exploration complete, we head to the airport for an early morning flight for our journey back to Kolkata, reflecting on our journey from the natural wonders of Siberia and Mongolia to the historical richness of Beijing.
